Hannah is 2!!

We have a 2-year-old!! Hannah's birthday didn't quite go as planned- we had to postpone her birthday party since she's still getting over the flu, but we made sure she had a fun day anyway. She got a mini cupcake for breakfast, a Daniel Tiger trolley, and then later in the day she got to go on her very first trip to the Disney store!! She loved it. She picked out a set of Mickey and Minnie Mouse figurines.

Hannah at 2 weighs 25 lbs! She is so sweet and so smart. We were reading on babycenter.com last night what the milestones of a 2-year-old should be and we just laughed because it said they usually know between 50 and 75 words and should start stringing together 2 word sentences. Yesterday Hannah told Stephen: "I want to watch Minnie's Winter Bow Show on the big TV." She just blows me away with her vocabulary.

Aside from being so smart she is also very kind and empathetic. It's amazing the thoughtfulness she has for being such a young kid. Yesterday evening we were all three sitting on the couch and I was tearing up a little bit because her birthday is kind of a hard day for me with all the traumatic memories from the hospital swirling around in my head. Hannah immediately put her little head in my lap and said "It's alright Mommy, it's ok," and then she put her arms around my neck and gave me a hug. How sweet is she?!!! She has such a sweet, compassionate little heart, and I hope as she gets older that quality will just shine through her more and more. We're so proud of her!

New this month: Hannah no longer uses the high chair tray. Instead she prefers to be pushed up to the table and eats with us now like a big girl! She has also gotten really good with a spoon and can feed herself yogurt without making too big of a mess. It's great!

Favorites: coloring in the bathtub with her bath crayons (she calls them markers), watching Minnie's Winter Bow Show, and Minnie's Bow-tique, drawing on her easel, playing with her Daniel Tiger trolley, eating grapes, playing with play-doh, wearing her Minnie Mouse watch, doing the "hot dog dance", putting stickers on everything, playing with her kitchen set, skyping with Kate & Luke, eating chocolate (thanks Oma for the advent calendar that introduced Hannah to the deliciousness of chocolate), and reading bedtimes stories with Daddy.

We love you Hannah Bug!!!
