For many years the ladies on the Summers side of the family have had a Christmas tradition of attending the Nutcracker ballet. Last year Hannah got to go for the first time and she loved it. This year a trip to the ballet clearly wasn't in the cards but Nana Claus said "nuh uh" to 2020 ruining yet another event and planned an epic Nutcracker Day at home for Crosley and Hannah. It was a Girls Only party and Hannah loved reminding Daddy and Do-Dad of that ;) Stephen stayed home and Do-Dad was banished to his workshop for the day while us girls celebrated the first annual Nutcracker Day-2020 Style.
Nana had so many fun activities planned for the cousins. There were matching nutcracker shirts, "I Believe in Nana Claus" shirts, pink leotards and pink ballet slippers! They decorated cookies shaped like nutcrackers, tutus, ballet slippers, and ballerinas, and they painted there very own wooden nutcrackers. Nana also got them both a new nutcracker/music box that plays music from the Nutcracker. After lunch we found an old recording of the ballet on YouTube and Crosley and Hannah spent the afternoon dancing and running around the living room. It was a wonderful performance! I know when we look back at this year, Nutcracker Day will be a highlight :)
