Oh my goodness y'all- Hannah and her cousin Crosley are the luckiest girls to get to have Nutcracker day with Nana! It's basically a 2nd Christmas just for girls! This year they each got a handmade Nutcracker garland, a Clara nightgown, a sugar plum fairy leotard, ballet slippers, sterling silver nutcracker necklaces, Lego nutcracker ornaments, Nutcracker Tervis tumblers, Clara and Mouse King stuffed animals, and wooden nutcracker ornaments made by Do-Dad. They made sugar cookies, did a guided Nutcracker drawing, made their Lego ornaments, visited with Maw-Maw, danced to the ballet (which we watched on TV), and just had an absolute ball together!
Nutcracker Day is such a special tradition in the Summers family that started with Maw-Maw taking Nana to the Nutcracker ballet when she was a girl, and then Nana taking Aunt Jenni, and now Crosley and Hannah. The pandemic has prevented them from going to the ballet the last 2 years, but this "Plan B- Nutcracker at Home" has been such an extravaganza that I don't think the girls have even missed attending the performance!
