Lucky Puppy

 

I'm super late on blogging this news! On March 16th we got a new puppy! Hannah named him Lucky since we got him a day before St. Patrick's Day. He's a schnoodle (schnauzer/toy poodle mix). He was born on December 16, so he's 5 months old now. We had a rough start with our little Lucky puppy- he was sick for the first few weeks we had him and I'll spare you all the poopy details. He had an intestinal parasite that really delayed potty training and was just a big ol' mess to deal with. He's thankfully doing MUCH better now and is way less maintenance than he was in the beginning. 

I had forgotten how much work a puppy was! He barked and howled his head off in his crate at night while he was getting used to it, and still does sometimes. He can't be trusted in the backyard alone so we have to take him out on a leash every time. He's doing so much better with potty training but he's still a risk so he needs constant supervision when he's out of his crate. We're looking forward to when he's grown and can have some more freedom! In the meantime, it's not all work- he's so much fun and such a sweet pup. He loves playing tug-of-war and fetch and chewing on bones. He is also a good snuggle puppy and likes to curl up on a blanket on the recliner with us upstairs. As much as we joked about selling him those first few hard weeks, I think we'll keep him now ;)
