Hannah's Graduating (Already!)

Hannah's last day at the babysitter's

For the past year, Hannah has been staying with a babysitter during the week while we worked. It was a great set up for us to have her in a home with just a few other kids, and very close to my work so I could go visit her every day at lunch. Our good friends from church have their two kids there- Lincoln, and Lucy (who is 3 months younger than Hannah), and their cousin Aubrey, and then some days the babysitter's granddaughter Peyton is there too. Hannah loves it there and talks about her friends all the time, especially "Aubee".

A few months ago we made the decision to put her on a waiting list at a daycare/early childhood learning center. Lots of things factored into our decision but mainly we just wanted Hannah to be in an environment with a bit more structure and a curriculum where she would start learning some things. We toured several places, and found a daycare that we really liked with small class sizes (she'll be one of 8 kids in a room with 2 teachers). I've visited there several times, and every time it was just astounding to me how organized and calm everything was. My friend from work has her 3 year old daughter there, and she loves it. They have a special class called 'Exploratorium" where they do little science experiments with the kids and teach them how to cook. We can just see Hannah thriving in a place like this!

Her first day is this Monday, and I know it will be a tough week for her adjusting to new kids and a new environment, but I really hope that she'll love it quickly and that this will turn out to be a great move for her.
