Christmas Crafting with Hannah

 

Hannah has been a busy bee this past week doing all kinds of fun Christmas crafts! She got a huge tote from church filled with projects for Advent (called an ADVENTure bag). She wasted no time getting started on all the crafts. First up was planting a paperwhite flower bulb in a jar with rocks. We'll watch it grow throughout the Advent season and hopefully by Christmas we'll have blooms! What a cool idea! It already has several sprouts and we've enjoyed watching it grow this week. 

She also painted a handful of wooden pegs for her nativity scene and we converted an old tissue box into a stable and collected some dried grass and rocks from the backyard to make just the most precious little nativity scene ever. I know 20 years from now we will still pull this thing out at Christmas. She worked so hard on painting all the figurines and even wrapped baby Jesus up in a little piece of felt.

She also made Advent candle ornaments out of scrapbook paper and craft sticks, with the theme of each week written on them- hope, peace, joy, and love! 

I got her a snow globe making kit and we had so much fun making them. She got to sculpt her own little Christmas tree, holly, and I made a little penguin. She loved the whole process- especially pouring the glitter in the globes! It was a really fun project and they turned out so cute! Pictures of all her masterpieces below :)
