January was the longest, coldest month ever!! Ugh! I absolutely hate it and wish we could just skip it every year! Hannah barely went to school because we had a really big snow/ice storm followed by 14 days of below freezing temperatures, which meant nothing melted and the roads couldn't really be cleared. As a result, school was cancelled for 8 days. She basically had a 2nd winter break 😆 Also, let the record show that heating our house for the month of January in 2026 cost $511. It's the wooooorst.... January is the worst. I'm happy to be writing this blog post on the other side of that dreadful month.
It wasn't all bad-Hannah had a fun "Spa-Jama" birthday party with her friends. They wore pajamas and decorated pillowcases that Nana personalized and embroidered for all the girls. I'm glad Hannah has such a sweet group of friends.
We got out in the snow a little bit, but it wasn't really great snow to play in because there was a thick layer of ice underneath it. The picture on the bottom left isn't in Alaska as it may look, no... that would be the biggest snow pile we've ever seen in the mall parking lot in Lexington!
