Spring Snapshots

 

Hannah had a great first season on the Academic Team! They came in 2nd place at the regional competition and they also won the sportsmanship award. I'm glad she got to be part of a team. She enjoyed it a lot and I think she'll do it again next year. One of her favorite things was becoming friends with some of the 5th graders. 

We spent a weekend in the North Carolina mountains and Hannah had a great time as always with her cousins. A big win for us was that it was the first time we traveled with Lucky, and he did so well! It's nice to know he can handle being in the car and in a new environment. Kate and Luke had a lot of fun playing with him and giving him treats :) 

Last weekend, Hannah and the other kids at church led the service. They did the readings, picked all the hymns, and Hannah got the honor of co-preaching with our pastor. They met together a few weeks before and planned out the whole sermon together. Hannah got to contribute her thoughts and helped wonder about the story of Jesus healing the blind man. The sermon was so good and Hannah was just a total natural. She wasn't nervous one bit, and she communicated so clearly. It was like she had done it a hundred times. Everyone was so nice and encouraging to her. I love that she got this opportunity, and I love that she's growing up in a church where she is valued. She also got to play the piano during the offertory. She is definitely following in the footsteps of some of her relatives :) We are of course so incredibly proud of her!
